Danna White, a pastor’s widow and her family of Ochelata, OK, will receive the answers to their prayers when they’re told the good news that they will receive a renovated and beautiful new home.
On his 19th wedding anniversary — April 11, 2005 — Pastor John White suffered a heart-attack and died, leaving behind his broken-hearted widow, Danna, and their five children, who are all now basically homeless. As pastor of Bluestem Baptist Church, John and his family lived in the church parsonage, but after his death his widow and the children had no choice but to move to make room for the church’s new pastor. The church gave them time to do this, but that time ran out.
Members of the church and community have rallied around this family, holding several fundraising events to help the Whites find a place to live. From these efforts, Danna was able to purchase two run-down trailers. The pastor’s life insurance also gave her enough money to buy some land. The problem is that one trailer is actually an old modular office that needs to be converted into a home. To make matters worse, the trailers don’t have any heat, a working kitchen, any locks on the door or carpet, and the doublewide doesn’t have any power. It’s been so cold at night that the kids have to sleep at friends’ houses just to stay warm. On top of all this, the Whites can’t even move the trailers to their new property.
In less than a year, the Whites have gone from a loving church family to a homeless, working family without a father. Danna is struggling to make ends meet, but she’s determined to carry on the legacy of her beloved husband and to work as a missionary to help needy families.
In this episode of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” the design team takes on a mission of its their when they build a dream home for the pastor’s widow and her children so they can begin anew, as Pastor White would have wanted.

Faith Tipton-Smith is a single mother raising two girls, 16-year-old Missy and 8-year-old Emily. After working at the same job for 25 years, Faith was finally able to purchase her first home in July of 2004. On February 4, 2005 the unthinkable happened when this new home that Faith and her family had worked so hard for burned to the ground. They lost everything, including countless cheerleading trophies, family pictures, clothes and even their dog, Sugar. This family lost everything they cherished and loved. But, most importantly, everybody in the family was safe. During this time, Faith’s 16-year-old son, Ransom, was her biggest support, helping his sisters with school, keeping the family together and, as time allowed, playing his favorite sport — golf.
On May 4, 2005, exactly three months to the day after the fire, the Tipton-Smiths’ lives were shattered when Missy, their friend, Alex, and Ransom were involved in a car crash. Missy survived, but Alex and Ransom did not. Even after his death, Ransom showed his complete selflessness by donating his organs to save others — including a 19-year-old girl who would have died without the blessing of Ransom’s heart.
Within three months, the Tipton-Smiths’ life was completely turned around. The shell of the house still remains, and the constant reminder of Ransom is with them everyday. Faith has always been very involved in her community, helping Missy and Emily on the cheerleading squad, volunteering at March of Dimes events, and now organizing the Ransom golf charity event to honor her son, the hero. Ask anyone in the community who deserves this, and the answer is always Faith!
In this episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Ty and the gang will bring this family home to a place they can fill with love and where the countless memories of Ransom can grow.
While Ty and the designers, local builder Oakwood Homes LLC of Atlanta and hundreds of volunteers and workers are rebuilding their home in just seven days, the Tipton-Smith family will go on vacation at the Hilton in Orange County, CA.

It’s hard to condense a Kermit-filled 2-hour television event into a 10-minute video, but I did anyway. So here are some highlights from Kermit the Frog on “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” (aired 4/9/06). This is just a small sample of some of Kermit’s moments in the show. For all the Kermit excitement, you’ll have to watch the full 2-hour episode on the Craft family. Enjoy!

Ty Pennington and the Extreme Makeover Home Edition design crew travel to Middleton, ID for tonight’s episode. The team will be building a new dream house for the Stockdale family.
The Stockdale family consists of high school sweethearts Ryan and Karia Stockdale and their four children. The Stockdale children all suffer from a rare disease known as Eosinophilic Enteropathy. This disease is a white blood cell disease. It attacks proteins, preventing the ingestion and digestion of food. The disease also affects and causes
diseases of the lungs, kidneys, blood, intestines and immune system.
The children’s names are Kayden, Jetty, Baylee, and McKinnon. Kayden was born with Gastroschisis, where the intestines are outside the body. Kayden had to undergo two surgeries to correct. Jetty and Baylee have to bed with feeding tubes because of their condition. McKinnon is the youngest Stockdale child, and she was born two months premature.
In addition to the children, the parents have also suffered some health problems. Ryan had been diagnosed with Migraine Glaucoma. The same disease recently lead to his brother’s blindness. Karia suffered some complications while pregnant with McKinnon, and she had to undergo five major surgeries.
Even with all the medical problems, the parents are very active in their community. They created a book drive and ran instrument drive for their school. Karia is a tutor and head of a humanitarian group.
The family’s home has several problems such as a coal-burning furnace and a weak plumbing system. Because the family has to get their water from an indoor well, they can only run one water-using appliance at a time.
