Faith Tipton-Smith is a single mother raising two girls, 16-year-old Missy and 8-year-old Emily. After working at the same job for 25 years, Faith was finally able to purchase her first home in July of 2004. On February 4, 2005 the unthinkable happened when this new home that Faith and her family had worked so hard for burned to the ground. They lost everything, including countless cheerleading trophies, family pictures, clothes and even their dog, Sugar. This family lost everything they cherished and loved. But, most importantly, everybody in the family was safe. During this time, Faith’s 16-year-old son, Ransom, was her biggest support, helping his sisters with school, keeping the family together and, as time allowed, playing his favorite sport — golf.
On May 4, 2005, exactly three months to the day after the fire, the Tipton-Smiths’ lives were shattered when Missy, their friend, Alex, and Ransom were involved in a car crash. Missy survived, but Alex and Ransom did not. Even after his death, Ransom showed his complete selflessness by donating his organs to save others — including a 19-year-old girl who would have died without the blessing of Ransom’s heart.
Within three months, the Tipton-Smiths’ life was completely turned around. The shell of the house still remains, and the constant reminder of Ransom is with them everyday. Faith has always been very involved in her community, helping Missy and Emily on the cheerleading squad, volunteering at March of Dimes events, and now organizing the Ransom golf charity event to honor her son, the hero. Ask anyone in the community who deserves this, and the answer is always Faith!
In this episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Ty and the gang will bring this family home to a place they can fill with love and where the countless memories of Ransom can grow.
While Ty and the designers, local builder Oakwood Homes LLC of Atlanta and hundreds of volunteers and workers are rebuilding their home in just seven days, the Tipton-Smith family will go on vacation at the Hilton in Orange County, CA.

omg that story is SOOO tragic! i am getting real SICK of car accidents, sometimes i wanna yell at the idiot who doesnt pay attention to the road! watever all i know is is that family does not deserve the death of Ransom. its so wrong! i was ALMOSTgot in a car accident,some fool tried to merge into the lane my mom and sister were in including me! i was in the front seat y’all! it was like the movie theatre screen when the car smashed into the wall of the highway!! he missed our car, THANK GOD!

how can anyone say …
how can anyone say that God gives us test to prepare us for the future ahead when James 1:13 indicates that- and I quote “When under trial, let no one say: I am being tried by God. For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone.” Then why bad things happen? Why does God allow such things? Why, apparently, God help some people and others not? Please, stop blaming God. There are answers very simple and logic to all of this,.. it is not a mystery.

I grieve for this family, my sister passed away in a car crash. I never saw any freaking thing like this. Where is your god for me? Yes I’ve had a few drinks. My mom was wrecked by my sisters passing, I myself have yet to get passed this. Don’t bring God into something nice done by your fellow man. I used to believe, not anymore.

He gives us test to prepare us for the future ahead. I trully believe that, I didnt have the best childhood growing up, my Mother was and still is an alcoholic, and my Dad is crazy, so I had some hard times, but ya know what, those bad times helped shape me into the person I am today, I am strong, independent, and I expect more out of myself. That boy died so two others could live.. He was Gods special project, God bless that boy and his family! That boy was a mircle and is now an angel!

I have had hard times in my life with sicness, death, great traumas and losses, there I tried to pray, but I felt like a complete idiot and looser. So from the bottom of my heart No I do really really not believe in anything. Forced to choose somthing to believe in, it would be in stuff like Gaia, Mother Earth etc. which is good to all that lives, and very sensible in an environmental preserving way (that said, I read all major religious writings, because how can I deny what I know not).

sry but arrrrrgh! I have a full and happy life with lots of love and people in it. I try to do good for others every day of my life, because I feel I can help brighten up and change the lives of people around me, that. Eg. This week I spend on a camp I arranged for 36 disabled teenagers. I DO something for the people around me, IMHO better than praying for it to happen. Now don’t come and say I must be sad/lonely. However thank you for your concern, kouneli3, regardles how prejudgemental it is.
